Rotimi Amaechi on Wednesday thanked President Muhammadu Buhari for not changing him to Islam. He made the remark through the valedictory session of the Federal Government Council.
The previous governor of Rivers State made the assertion to spite the president’s inverterate critics who take into account him a spiritual bigot. He stated he was misunderstood and criticised for associating with the president.
On the valedictory session of the council, ministers within the cupboard took turns to relate the teachings they learnt from the president as members of his cupboard.
Amaechi narrated how he was nearly chased out of Christ the King Catholic Church in 2014 for supporting the president, whom they alleged was attempting to Islamise the nation.
“Mr. President, let me thanks for not changing me to Islam.
